“There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign”
Landscape photography has taught me two things above all else, adaptation and humility. One photo requires a split second reaction time (here), another demands I sacrifice the dryness of my boots (here), while another lets my mind wander (here).
Before I was 26, nature was not a concept that I thought of as tangible. That was until a friend convinced me to leave the comforts of the city and take to the road Kerouac style for two weeks. Those were my first ventures into the American West, an area romanticized the world over for its vastness, diverse topography, and spectacular natural phenomena.
The bug was caught, and the roads around the U.S. are becoming more and more familiar. I continue to search for unique wildernesses to backpack, scenic roads to explore, and forever seeking a good place to photograph along the way.
The lands, the cultures, and the people I’ve met along the way have left a tremendous imprint on me, and many moments during these travels that have left me forever changed—too many to share here, but you may stumbled upon a few in my galleries.
